Reason to smile

Three top rank officers – ROFEL JOHN PARREÑO, STEPHEN VON JERUTA and EDEN ARGUELLES — of Robinsons Place Iloilo celebrated their birthdays together here and in Cosmo-Manille with officemates and friends.
Rightfully so, the fun celebrations were marked with unabashed vim and youthful vigor. It also coincided with their trip for a seminar.

The fun went in crescendo when Group Marketing Communications Manager ROFEL JOHN PARREÑO received on behalf of Robinsons Land Corporation the Philippine Quill Award 2014 in recognition of Robinsons Place Tacloban’s Re-Opening Event for achieving the highest global standard for business communications excellence during the awards night at Crowne Plaza Galleria.
Indeed friendship, togetherness and an award are good reason to celebrate and with a smile!

Iloilo Bad Boy of Fashion celebrates twenty years

Not only it is a celebration of twenty years in the fashion industry, XX by BO PARCON is a reunion of “senior” models – RIA BOLIVAR, DIMPLES de la CRUZ, DIANE VALERO, MECHELLE SALES, SARAH JALECO, MARLETTE HUGO and IAN ALLA. In the early 2000s, they trailblazed the runways here and in Cosmo-Manille. Except for RIA BOLIVAR who still remains the country’s supermodel, they have pursued other careers.
The “senior” models will be joined by two socialites, a young debutante, an athlete, a city councilor and a modeling competition finalist.

XX by BO PARCON will see action on Friday on Level 2 Ledesma Wing of Robinsons Place Iloilo. It is a by-invitation only three-in-one event – an exhibit that will showcase the award-winning designer’s obra maestra through the years, a fashion show that will feature his latest collection and a cocktail party courtesy of chef MIGUEL CORDOVA of Afrique’s.
The style event is powered by Golden Luck Development Corporation and Panay News. (Models: Ria Bolivar, Dimples de la Cruz and Dianne Valero. Photos by Cenon Norial III)

World of interiors

The world is a good source of inspiration. With this in mind, thirteen graduating students of Interior Design at University of San Agustin (USA) mounted an exhibit, called DesigNATION, on Level Two Ledesma Wing of Robinsons Place Iloilo. It infused design innovations with dream destinations. It was part of Special Project, one of the subjects of all graduating interior design students all over the country.

“Interior Design exhibits of other schools are scheduled differently to avoid conflict,” said KEN FEROLINO, one of the organizers.
The students grouped themselves into four teams and set up booths that drew inspirations from South America for the living area, Africa for the kitchen, Europe for the entertainment room, and North America for the bedroom!
On the opening day, top interior designer and alumnus of USA College of Architecture EDGAR LOPEZ SUELO was the special guests. He spoke on “earning from creativity and creativity through learning.”

Infinitely Jet Salcedo

Young and talented fashion designer JET SALCEDO joined forces with Smart Infinity to present his latest collection in a fashion extravaganza called A Fashionable Affair at Sampaguita Hall of Royal Gardens.
The smart chic cocktail event was attended by who’s who, who’s that and who’s not in society, business and profession.

The presentation showcased the designer’s signature jet black, opulent elegance and exquisite craftsmanship. He paired faux fur with animal printed leggings, juxtaposed beadworks with embroideries, layered his pieces with yards and yards of lace and tulle and finished them with wide leather and metallic belts. The collection is vibrant, youthful and on the go.

Boracay state of mind

There is no peak or low season in Boracay. The paradise island is swamped with local and international tourists all the time. Its world-class white sand beach and popular specialty restos and bars are filled with “body-licious” hunks and gorgeous babes in varying degrees of undress.

From Caticlan, La Carmela de Boracay Resort Hotel gave Houston-based journalist PINOY GONZALES and yours truly a special trip to Pearl of the Pacific where we were billeted for the long weekend!
Hardly had we settled in our condo-style rooms with a good view of the lush hills of Boracay, we were treated to a sumptuous lunch. Then we hit the white sand beach! Our leisurely walk was highlighted by photoshoot of the beach scenes. Along the way we chanced upon friends lounging in bars for their early cocktails.

We also capped the nights at the swinging bars, like Summer Place, Juice Bar and Epic.
Indeed it was a fun-filled weekend!

Boracay celebrations

Family and friends from Cosmo-Manille, Metro-Iloilo and Bacolod City gathered at Pearl of the Pacific in Boracay for the over-the-weekend birthday celebration of owner, tres charmant GREG SANSON!
He and his wife, lovely MARILOU TIROL-SANSON, hosted the guests with comfortable accommodations, sumptuous themed lunches and dinners, good conversations and fab company! Rightfully so, their children RITA and ALBERT with his wife THERESE and sons NIO and SHAWN jetted in just for the occasion.
To make the occasion more meaningful, the image of Our Lady of Fatima was brought in by Bro. VINCENT ARANAS, who takes the religious icon around world for devotional visits!

The big day kicked off with an Italian lunch of Onion Soup, Insalata, Three-Cheese Pizza and Mango Crepe ala Mode. It was followed a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Fr. BOY SUPLICO at the resort’s shrine.
The mosaic image of Nuestra Señora de Perpetuo Socorro, a gift from NELSON CHING, was blessed and enshrined at the shrine’s adoration chapel.
Then the partying, themed “Forever 21,” began. It started with cocktails. On the resort’s beachfront, the guests enjoyed on Fois Gras and Chicken Liver Paté on French Bread, Mozzarella Sticks, Clamares Fritos and Chimichangga with Napolitana Sauce with Margarita, Rhum,Soda, Fruit Punch, Gin, Vodka and Boracay Cruise!

Après cocktails Buffet dinner was served al fresco. To the bossanova and standard music of CHIARA and ALEXIS, everyone enjoyed Salad on Truffle Oil, Prawn Head Biscuit Soup, baked Herb chicken, Prawn Thermidore, Lechon, Potato au gratin, Ribeye Steak and Banana Crepe!
The partying went crescendo when guests jammed with CHIARA and ALEXIS till way past midnight. Needless to say, the celebration was a success. Here’s a toast to Tito GREG for more happy, healthy and meaningful years ahead.
